Book Competition: Arch-ive Edition 3
Competition Closes: Friday 5th December 2025
We have a copy of the latest edition of the wonderful Arch-ive to give away. Edited by Dominic Eley, Arch-ive is an irregular publication that investigates the books that have been influential on leading urban practitioners. The aim of the Arch-ive project is to showcase architects’ relationship with books and the way in which they utilise, interrogate and display architectural resources.
The latest edition features interviews with and essays by a range of practitioners including Adam Nathaniel Furman, Asif Khan, Edwin Heathcote and the Building on the Built co-founders Jonathan Tuckey and Peter Youthed.
The book is a wonderful artefact in itself and contains many themes and ideas close to our hearts, including adaptive reuse and material transformation.
We’ve added an excerpt from Arch-ive Edition 3 to our own online Archive here. This is part of a fascinating essay, by Local Works Studio director Loretta Bosence, entitled ‘When the Stones Talk: A Builder’s Archive’.
To enter the competition just email us at info@buildingonthebuilt.org, giving your full name and putting “Arch-ive Edition 3” in the subject field. If you’re not already subscribed we’ll add you to our Mailing List.
We will select a winner at random after the deadline of midnight on Friday 5th December 2025. Good luck!
