St Gallen Textile Museum Competition

Studio Okuljar, Lenz Schnell and Jan Bajtlik (Artist) - 2020

SO The house welcomes you with a buzz, cake and a coffee. Inwards, through the void, a world of mysteries opens up to you. Now, we are wandering from the first floor, through the second straight up to the third floor. How nice that the original staircase has been preserved allowing for discovery of new spaces. It is here where the old and intimate unhesitatingly coexist with the new and open. Located to the side of the building and not accessible for all, a different staircase leads the way further up. On the way you hear the clatter of computer keyboards, and workshop tools and the bustle of vernissages. The space is flexible and multifunctional - it creates plenty of possibilities. Finally, when reaching the top, the door is opening. The view of the city. The Seidenhof. Delighted by what you see, you drink fresh orange juice or a glass of champagne.
