WallaceLiu: Chongqing Industrial Museum
Upcoming Talk - 4th March 2020
Since its foundation in 2013 by Jee Liu and Jamie Wallace, WallaceLiu has been exploring the possibilities of adaptive re-use projects in China. Their approach has challenged many of the preconceptions of what it is possible to build in China.
As part of an emerging tendency for re-evaluating the legacy of the economic boom in China, the work of WallaceLiu has involved the rehabilitation of urban and industrial landscapes; creating revitalised streetscapes and rehabilitating abandoned industrial infrastructure. They are currently overseeing the completion of the Chongqing Industrial Museum, a 7500sqm public building situated within a decommissioned 1950s Steel Works, where the new buildings establish a complex relationship with the remaining historical structures.
WallaceLiu will be speaking about the Chongqing Industrial Museum project at the offices of Jonathan Tuckey Design, 58 Milson Road at 7:30pm on Wednesday 4th March 2020.
